Franklin NC Real Estate – Exit Smokey Mountain Realty Agents Visit Sanctuary Village

The phone rang at Exit Smokey Mountain Realty amongst the hussle and bustle of everyday real estate activity. Only this was no ordinary phone call, it was Tim Ryan, owner and developer of Sanctuary Village. Tim and his wife Iva were calling to invite all the Exit Smokey Mountain Realty Agents for refreshments and a grand tour of their new and unique ‘In town development”. We gladly accepted the invitation and set a date to view Tim and Iva’s real estate wares. Sanctuary Village is located within easy walking distance of downtown Franklin, and only 5 minutes away from the Exit office. We thought perhaps we would be going to a real estate office in Sanctuary Village, but no, we were ushered into Tim&Iva’s first Sanctuary Village custom home, a three-level Arts&Crafts- inspired design by Allison Ramsey Architects. The welcoming porch of the Ryan’s new home overlooks the newly completed Market Square, with its European fountain and eco-friendly pavers. Once inside, the Ryans proved to be most gracious hosts offering us fruit, coffee and juice. Tim and Iva spent a good part of one hour teaching us about the concepts of Sanctuary Village and then proceeded to give us a guided tour of their new “IDEA HOME”. Honestly, it was an amazing time, we learned a great deal about the intricacies and detailed planning required in order to bring a community such as this from mind to reality. The Ryans’ are great dreamers who also possess persistant inspired action to bring their ideas to life.

Sanctuary Village is a new Traditional Neighborhood Development in the mountains of Franklin North Carolina. First-phase construction has begun on what will be a walkable, mixed-use community five blocks from Franklin’s historic Main Street. This will be a neighborhood of porches, parks, and walking paths — all within easy strolls to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment in downtown Franklin. Around the Square will be offices and retail shops and a neighborhood deli/market with residences above, plus “mansion flats” offering condo living in a two-story building designed to match the architecture of the single-family homes in the broader neighborhood. There’s an architect-designed housing option for everyone, whether it’s a moderately sized single-family home with a garage apartment or a cozy cottage or a mansion flat in a building served by an elevator. All this with low maintenance costs and high energy efficiency.
At build-out, Sanctuary Village will add some 180 units in a wide range of scales to in-town living alternatives in Franklin. All residences will meet North Carolina’s HealthyBuilt Homes certification, satisfying high standards of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. Best of all, the design of the in-town neighborhood and the homes themselves not only frees residents from many of the obligations of lawn and home maintenance, it also reduces their reliance on cars. All the shopping and entertainment options of Franklin’s downtown are only steps away.

You owe it to yourself when in Franklin to stop by Sanctuary Village and view the amazing birth of Franklin’s only IN TOWN REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT. Say hello to the Ryans’ and tell them Bald Head the Realtor sent you!
